An overview of how the card works

	Your membership ID card entitles you to a variety of discounts, privileges or special prices from hundreds of businesses with thousands of outlets across Australia.
	The range of commodities is quite extensive so we have grouped them into various sections (see below for more detail).
	Follow some simple rules and you can save hundreds of dollars per year.

to claim your discount or prior to any haggling you may do with the merchant over the original price of the goods or service

Commodity Sections

Specials
This section lists any specials we receive from DEFCOM merchants that are time-limited and over and above their normal discount.

Accommodation
This section refers to accommodation that is geared for the overnight or short-stay travellor. Ideally suited for members who are travelling to new postings. For resorts and holidays see section below.

Cars - New & Used

This section lists the new car dealerships that DEFCOM members discounts and or privileges on the purchase of a new card. In addition a number of these dealers also provide a set discount off their used car range.

Holidays & Travel
Holidays Direct offers DEFCOM members, their family and their friends greats deals on domestic and international holidays and travel. Discounts are provided for Tours, Cruises, Insurance, Package Holidays and International Flights.

Insurance & Finance
Save hundreds of dollars on A&G Car Insurance (not available in NT). Plus DEFCOM members receive a huge discount off QBE Travel Insurance. Quotes can be obtained online quickly.

Leisure & Theme Parks
This section has those fun-to-do things, theme parks and tourist attractions on the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.

Local Traders
Some towns and cities have a concentration of DEFCOM members. In those areas we are able to recruit additional small local traders into the system.

State/National Companies
These are the companies who offer members discounts, privileges or special prices in outlets across a state or Australia-wide. It also includes online purchasing with delivery Australia-wide.

Wine Club
DEFCOM members have the chance to join a great wine club that was established just for them. There are no membership fees and loads of guarantees! Now you can buy great wine at a great price.
